Dining out has become something that people take advantage of and most do not consider it to be luxury but rather a necessity. On average people will eat out 4 to 5 times a week and spend over $ 350 billion a year on this pastime. The high demand for fast food is growing which means that the portion size are also growing and have become 2 to 3 times larger than what you would normally eat at home. There are super size options and extra side portions that have contributed to the population becoming fatter and prone to various health risks.
Even though the population is indulging the fitness and weight loss industries are thriving as people search for healthier lifestyles and smaller waistlines. It has also become compulsory for fat foods and restaurants to list their menu’s nutritional facts and calories. Most fast food restaurants have also tried to help by introducing healthier food options and low calorie meals. This does not however make for healthier lifestyle, as we only need to eat a small amount of food to keep going throughout the day. When you are dining out there are things that you can do to lessen the amounts of food you eat in one sitting.

By Robert S. Bell
Carbohydrates are the body?s major source of energy which enables the many body organs to function properly. Carbohydrates taken in by the body is broken down into glucose which provides the much needed energy of the human body. With the glucose that was produced as the human body consumes carbohydrate-rich foods, the pancreas secretes an important hormone called insulin which transfers the glucose from the blood to the different cells of the human body. That in a nutshell explains how important carbohydrates are and why everyone should not totally eliminate the intake of carbohydrates through their diet plans.
To explain why carbohydrates is not the key to weight loss, it is important to know the two different types of carbohydrates contained in the food that people eat. One is the carbohydrates in its simplest raw form of sugars found in fruits and vegetables and the other one is complex carbohydrates which are found in cereals and potatoes. Both of these forms of carbohydrates have good and beneficial effect on the body because they produce energy which is badly needed by the body to function properly. However, not all foods are good supplier of carbohydrates whether simple sugar or complex carbohydrates. Sugar sources of carbohydrates found in fruits and vegetables are good carbohydrates because they these sugars are unrefined and come in their simplest natural form. And aside from this fruits and vegetables also contains phyto-chemicals which make it a good source of nutritional needs.

273.5 lbs
>> UP 1.5 lbs
>> YTD Down 8.5 lbs
Reflection
Well, I seem to have lost my book after this weigh in was taken, and that pretty much says it all, right? When I lose track of my notebook that I write all my meals down .. you know something is wrong! I could say that there was also chocolate bunnies involved sometimes during the week, since Wednesday!
But - Up 1.5 lbs. NOT GOOD. My timing has been off and I’ve been eating supper in the afternoons, breakfast at night and snacking at my computer. The more I’ve exercised the more pain I get from exercising that yes.. yes .. “No Pain No Gain” but, it’s hard to exercise fully when you are in pain.

Metabolism is the general system the body uses for fat burning. Any movement you make, no matter how little, results when you are thinking about burning calories. No matter if you are sleeping, sitting standing or exercising, your metabolism always burns calories. The body’s metabolism may slow down, but it never stops. The more rigorous your body movements are, the faster your metabolism works.
The value and capacity of the calories your body burns depends on your body type. The entire team of people has a various body type that is used up of body fat as well as muscle. People that have minor body fat as well as a lot of muscle mass, tend to have a faster metabolism, which means they burn calories faster than those who have greater body fat. What this means is that if you are when it plays a part in shape, you will possibly have a faster metabolism as well as burn more calories.

Which is the world’s most common, inexpensive and enjoyable fitness activity?
It is a form of exercise that anyone can do, does not require any investment, special gear or even a fixed time commitment. It can be done anytime, anywhere, and you can do it with friends, while enjoying nature.
Its plain-old walking. All you have to do is to find a good location, put on a pair of shoes, find a friend if you can, grab an MP3 player (if you prefer music) and just do it.

Working out is a moving meditation. It is the largest chunk of dedicated ‘me’ time that most of us have available to ourselves all day. So why, oh why is it so difficult to drag yourself to the gym?
Hmmm … let’s explore this phenomenon.

Patience. It’s the one thing you never seem to have when you’ve got a body fat problem. You want the fat gone and you want it gone now! And why not? It seems so do-able. Everywhere you look, you read and hear promises of quick weight loss and you even see people losing weight quickly. We have reality TV shows that actually encourage people to attempt “extreme” body makeovers or see who can lose weight the fastest, and the winners (or shall we say, the losers), are rewarded generously with fortune, fame and congratulations.
Let’s face it. Everyone wants to get the fat off as quickly as possible - and having that desire is not wrong – it’s simply human nature. However, you must become aware of some serious problems that can occur if you try to force it and lose weight too quickly. The faster you lose weight, the more muscle you will lose with the fat, and that can really mess up your metabolism. An even bigger problem with fast weight loss is that the loss just won’t last. The faster you lose, the more likely you are to gain it back. Think about it: We don’t have a weight loss problem today, we have a “keeping the weight off” problem.
